What to Know

Information & Requirements for all participants & Parents

COVID Policy

Do not bring your child to class if they have a runny nose or are not feeling well. If the instructor notices a student with a runny nose, sniffles, coughing or seeming to be sick in any way, the instructor will ask the student not to participate in the lesson. We are trying to keep ourselves and other students healthy from any and all viruses and colds that are contagious.

Getting Started

Once you have decided to enroll in swim lessons, you may call or email us to request your preferred date and time for swim lessons. Please note that your requested spot will not be reserved until you've heard back from us and we've received your payment.

48 hour notice is required for cancellation of private lessons, one week cancelation is required for enrollment in a group lesson or swim team. If you do not give notice, you will be charged the entire amount for the reserved lesson or period.

Be sure to sign our online Waiver and print and fill out the Registration Form. Please mail the registration information form and payment to us.

Weather Policy

If it is pouring rain, snowing, sleeting, thundering or lightning at the time of your child’s lesson then we will schedule a make up the last week of August for group lessons or reschedule by appointment for private lessons. If it is chilly....I usually don’t cancel unless it is very cold.

Sometimes the weather is bad at the beginning of the day but then clears up in the afternoon. The weather is unpredictable in Jackson. If you feel like it is too cold, too stormy or just too unpleasant to have a swim lesson, I respect your decision to not come to class. However, make up classes for group or privates will not be offered if the class has not be officially canceled by the instructor.

  • Please arrive 10 minutes early to lessons. Being on time is essential because lessons are only 30 minutes long.
  • If you are late to lessons it is your responsibility to bring your child directly to his or her instructor.
  • If your child has long hair (girls AND boys!) it needs to be tied back or in a swim cap so that it does not interfere with learning (please clip back bangs as well).
  • Weather cancellations are rare, but do happen. When weather is questionable, please call Chrissy Stretton at 307.413.1491.
  • If a class is canceled due to weather the make-up date will be announced as soon as possible.
  • Please maintain proper hygiene for lessons! Blow noses upon arrival if necessary.
  • Non-members may participate in the group lessons at Teton Sports Club but in order to stay after lessons and enjoy the pool you need to have a membership. If you are interested in becoming a member please contact Teton Sports Club at 307.733.7004.
  • Put on a swim diaper if your child is not potty trained.
  • Go to the restroom before lessons begin.
  • Wetsuits are highly recommended. Sometimes the weather in Jackson is unpredictable, therefore we feel it is best to be prepared with a wetsuit. Children learn much faster and with greater easy when they are not chilly. Wetsuits allow children to focus on the lesson instead of when the lesson will be over. Wetsuit are also an AMAZING aid when teaching kids about buoyancy and floating. Last of all wetsuits are wonderful sunscreen.
